I had a finish this week even though college has stepped up a gear in terms of work !!! I loved this design, I stitched it on black 14 count aida with DMC threads. It was a freebie design by geeky little stitcher on Instagram. It was a lovely stitch with a well written, no error pattern:
I also had a little spending time this week and bought this cool calendar from Rymans, a stationers. It's really cute and was half price, so what can you do ?!?!?
So only a little progress this week, as I was working on treat yourself I realised there wasn't enough fabric to complete the design, annoying since it was a magazine kit. I've got some new fabric though and I'm going to restart it. A bit frustrating but I hadn't spent too long on it !! After that mini disaster I picked up another small to work on, this is a cute design that says 'I'd rather be sleeping' by geekylittlestitcher on etsy. It was given to followers on Instagram as a freebie. I've nearly finished it:
Very apt title as I am feeling very rough with a sinus infection and bronchial issues !! Stitching this pretty little design has cheered me up this week. It's a design I started last year early but put it to one side and left it alone. However in the spirit of finishing up WIPS I decided to pull it out and do some work on it. This is a freebie from the World of Cross Stitching magazine. I love it but the backstitching and placements of the French knots are a pain with the stiff aida that came with the kit. The colour pallette is cute though but as usual with this type of kit I have run out of thread !!! I have placed a bid on one on eBay but the auction doesn't end for a week so I will have to have some patience !!!!
Well so much happened last year that the time just flew by !! With studying and working my blog and stitching had to take a back seat. I only have a few months left of college and then my time will be my own again. It has been very challenging juggling both but my main regret of 2015 is the neglect of my little blog. Until I finish college I am not putting any pressure on myself but I just want to make progress on my main rotation and finish up some small WIP's that I have lying around. I also want to blog at least once a week but I'm not going to beat myself up if I miss a week !!! I've written my aims in my planner so I can see them ready for motivation !!! I am so excited for my 2016 goals !!!
My January aims:
I think my next post will be a recap as its been so long since I've shown any of my projects !!!
Firstly though here is my first finish of 2016. It is a freebie from The Nebby Needle Facebook page and stitched on 28 count random bit of fabric from a polstitches grab bag and DMC thread:
