HAED Freebie Trick or Treat Start !!!!!

Well I'll try and post a second time because the last time I tried to post this it got deleted argh !!!!!!

Edited :  tenth time I've tried to post, is anyone having any blogger app for ipad/phone problems ?

I've made a start on HAED Freebie Trick or Treat page one. This has been a big learning experience me as it is the first time I have stitched over one on 25 count on something so large. I wanted to do it as I have a larger HAED I want to do on the same count so I wanted to practise on this first. I thought stitching with small holes would be the main issue but that is not a problem for me and my tension seems to be ok. The main issue for me is HOW I am stitching. After researching, I decided to do each stitch as I go to avoid thread slippage. At first this seemed to being going very slow and I almost gave up with it, but I do seem to being going a bit faster and getting near to my average of about 100 stitches between 1 and 2 hours depending on how confetti mad it is. The other issue I am having is a minor one but just something I noticed ... my back is terrible. I don't normally bother a great deal about my back but there is so much extra thread on there than there usually is. I love how it is going though, the detail, even just in the blues of the sky is looking brilliant and I am not far away from the beginning of the moon in the bottom right hand corner and a bat !!!!!!

Here is the fabric and floss (fabric from The Crafty Kitten, of course !!!!!!)

Here is where I currently am, one 10x10 row away from halfway.

And now just for fun, here is my back so you can see what I mean. Hope it is not too shocking !!!!!

 Happy Stitching Everybody !!!!!

  1. Hi Donna, your HAED looks awesome! I have a few tiny starts on two HAEDs and another full-coverage design. My back is horrible since there is so much confetti stitching and I'm doing one color at a time, skipping around. I should probably try parking threads. You have gotten a TON of stitching done already!

Thanks for your comment on my blog about the Igloo. I always try to reply by email but you have no-reply. It is so much fun to stitch!

    2. Hi Donna, try this: On the left side of your blog under your name, click on View my complete profile. Then on the next page on the upper right side click on Edit Profile. Check the box for Show my email address. Under Identity, you can put your email address in the box that you want replies to go to.

It's great that you've been replying to comments here on your blog, but I usually wouldn't come back to look for a reply after leaving a comment.

  2. Looks good to me,and your back is not bad..we are all ultra critical of our work..I've seen a bad back ...mine .. on my White Lighening it was nightmare of confetti and 4,5 and 6 strands to get the 3D effect.
Thank you for commenting on my blog:-)

  4. Hi Donna. I just found your blog thru SoCal Debbie and became a follower. I haven't tried a HAED yet, they scare me. You have made great progress on yours.
I am also stitching a cut-thru design. Both Debbie and I have a SAL page at the top of our blogs. We now have 17 stitchers in our SAL. Please come by and say hi when you have the time.

  6. It looks really good! I wouldn't worry to much about the back, it's almost impossible for it to be neat with all this confetti!
