Trick or Treat Stitchy Progress ...

Another 2000 stitches done means I'm over the halfway mark and making real progress on this page. I'm getting to work on the moon now, the confetti is not too bad and I'm getting faster so I'm really enjoying it ...

It's my day off today and I've had a really good Wimbledon Stitchy Session watching Andy Murray, got a lot further with the page !!!!!

HAED Freebie Trick or Treat Start !!!!!

Well I'll try and post a second time because the last time I tried to post this it got deleted argh !!!!!!

Edited :  tenth time I've tried to post, is anyone having any blogger app for ipad/phone problems ?

I've made a start on HAED Freebie Trick or Treat page one. This has been a big learning experience me as it is the first time I have stitched over one on 25 count on something so large. I wanted to do it as I have a larger HAED I want to do on the same count so I wanted to practise on this first. I thought stitching with small holes would be the main issue but that is not a problem for me and my tension seems to be ok. The main issue for me is HOW I am stitching. After researching, I decided to do each stitch as I go to avoid thread slippage. At first this seemed to being going very slow and I almost gave up with it, but I do seem to being going a bit faster and getting near to my average of about 100 stitches between 1 and 2 hours depending on how confetti mad it is. The other issue I am having is a minor one but just something I noticed ... my back is terrible. I don't normally bother a great deal about my back but there is so much extra thread on there than there usually is. I love how it is going though, the detail, even just in the blues of the sky is looking brilliant and I am not far away from the beginning of the moon in the bottom right hand corner and a bat !!!!!!

Here is the fabric and floss (fabric from The Crafty Kitten, of course !!!!!!)

Here is where I currently am, one 10x10 row away from halfway.

And now just for fun, here is my back so you can see what I mean. Hope it is not too shocking !!!!!

I'm Back with Spanish Stashy Goodness !!!!!

Well, after a twenty eight hour coach trip (I don't like to fly so we went by coach) I am back in the U.K. I've actually been back a few days but only now starting to feel like I am returning to normal. Don't really know if there is such a thing as coach-lag but I definitely needed a couple of days of rest before feeling that I was 'back' if you know what I mean. We had the most wonderful time. After the major storm on the first day the weather was gorgeous, it didn't get too hot (the sea was far too cold to go in) which was just perfect for my mum and I. The place itself (Tossa de Mar) was absolutely lovely. It wasn't overcrowded, and it was a quiet place without being boring, which was just perfect to relax and chill out in. Plus there was a medieval castle to look at on the beach !!!!!!!! I miss waking up and seeing a castle !!!!!!

When there I was still looking out for Stitchy stuff and got a couple of items. At a local 'tabac' I found two 'Punto de Cruz' magazines. Having looked through them there are a couple of nice designs in them but they don't seem as 'modern' as their British counterparts. On the Monday we went to a market in Blanes and had a good look at all the stalls. There were three sewing related ones and I got two lovely pieces of dressmaking fabrics, buttons and some Presencia threads (that I believe are made in Valencia). I also bought my most favourite souvenir. A mini tin Singer sewing machine model. It is gorgeous and looks great on my sewing table. The little components open to store bits in. In behind is a cushion I bought from work before I left, I thought it was cute with the buttons on ...

I have also had another crazy finish, I finished off Funky Fox in the last couple of days. Cute kit but I ran out of thread as I made a mistake on the face. I frogged it out and managed to find another kit on ebay and used the thread from that to finish mine off ...

I have now made a start on page one of HAED freebie Trick or Treat by Randall Spangler. This is my first time stitching over one on something as small count as 25 Lugana and I'm finding it somewhat of a learning experience !!!! As I have rambled on enough for today I will post about that in a couple of days when I have some progress to show.
