IHSW Update (always late I know!!!!!)

I spent this IHSW working on Siberian Forest.  I had already done one column of 10x10 squares so during IHSW I managed to do almost two more columns.  They were quite confetti heavy but the next lot of the pattern seems more blocky so should go faster.  Its looking really fabulous, very rich colours...

Don't forget about my giveaway (see previous post),  just a few hours left to enter !!!

New Start: Linen Butterflies !!!

It is time for a new start since the last time I was working on my rotation I finished the wizard.  I chose a design from the DMC website that uses their now discontinued linen threads.  I have never used them before and after this design I think I will never use them again !!!  They are not as bad to use as their metallics but they are not that easy or smooth to use.  They are quite easy to break.  In saying those negatives the effect produced is quite stunning.  They have a matt effect which looks really good and I love the muted colours of the butterflies:

I am plugging away now on page three of Siberian Forest.  It is a partial page so will not take as long as  the others.

The Great Escape Finish !!!!!

I did it !!! I finished The Great Escape !! I am so proud of how it turned out.  I loved learning all the new stitches and really feel my sewing has improved because of this piece.  I would never have attempted the Papillon Creations SAL without the confidence gained from The Great Escape.  I think my favourite stitch was Van Dyke which made up the sign post.  Once I got the hang of it, the post was really relaxing to stitch and the effect is really good, it looks like a plait running down the middle !!!

I am now up to date with my SAL's so it is back to my rotation of five projects (see sidebar for what they are)  because last time in my rotation I finished the wizard I can make a new start which is a butterfly design using the now discontinued DMC linen threads.  I am finding them interesting to work with but I will speak more on that next time when I have an update for you.  I am nearly finished with the first section of that design so it won't be long till an update and then I plan to move straight onto the next page of Siberian Forest which has come out a week early!!

Happy Stitching Everybody !!!
