Wizard Finished !!!

I finished my wizard !!! It looks really good with the beads and the bling attached.  This was my first time using Madeira metallic thread.  The only other metallics I have used have been DMC and those are notoriously terrible to use so I was nervous.  These ones were much better I still had to pay more attention whilst using them  but they were easier to use than the dmc even without Thread Heaven.  So without further ado ....

I am now off to finish the wedding sampler.  My sister is getting married this Saturday (I can't believe how the time has flown), so I will be able to share the finished project with you on Sunday when she has seen it.  I have also bought a project for myself to do as a memento.  I intend to stitch it over the weekend (in any small opportunity I can !!!).  It is called Just Married by Lizzie Kate and I will be stitching it in regular DMC thread.

Sonic Box Completed !!

Here is the finished Sonic box completed after all the disasters !!! I think it looks great and Michelle will love it.  I got the box from this website.  You can still see the shadowing from the running dye a little but it is hardly noticeable in real life.

I have got my stash from Sew and So this morning so I can finally go up and finish the wizard I have been working on !!!

IHSW and TUSAL for May !!!

I have some piccys to share !!!!  First up is this month's tusal update.  This month I have added a lot of metallic to the pot since the wizard I am working on has taken a load of metallic thread (I have gone through two skeins already and waiting for the third!).

Now for my IHSW progress.  I achieved my aims this month and completed the May part of the Oakhaven SAL as well as continuing the wedding sampler and working on the Papillon creations SAL.  I am feeling much better about the Papillon Creations SAL now, the second of the hearts is going much better, I am really enjoying the Lindisfarne stitch.  I am going to put this to one side for the moment until next month because I really have to focus on the wedding sampler and want to catch up with the Great Escape.  I have also had a look at the next part and it includes Hardanger which I have never tried before so I want to have a chance to practice it before I do it on the real thing !!

Oakhaven Update and IHSW plans !!!

I have been stitching away on the wedding sampler and it is going great.  I am going to be adding some bling to it (some nice beads).  It is really a nice piece and the colours in it match the colours that my Sister has chosen for the day.

I also had an almost disaster which is the reason I don't have a picture of the finished Sonic box I am making.  There was a small mark on the corner of the aida that I wanted to wash out.  The madeira silk  thread said it could be machine washed so I thought that Hand washing would be doubly safe.  When I washed it it looked fine, I put it out to dry and it still looked ok but an hour later I looked at it and the blue and the yellow had run onto the fabric.  I could have cried as with the wedding sampler due it would have been a real struggle to get it redone.  Having decided that I would probably need to redo it I saw no harm in rewashing it.  Luckily it looks not bad at all now and I have decided to use the original piece.  No one will see the blue shadowing unless I point it out so I can relax again.

I have also been working on my wizard and am soooo very close to the finish.  I would have been finished a week ago but I have run out of metallic thread (annoyingly for the second time !!) and I have to wait till the end of the week till I can get more. It is frustrating because I literally only have a couple of lines left to do of the backstitch.   I am therefore not going to post a picture because I am just so near the finish line.

I finished the April part of the Oakhaven Yahoo Group SAL for 2012.  The doggy is so cute !!!  It stitched up really quick.

This weekend, unbelievably, its IHSW (click on the hermit in my sidebar to find out more info).  My aims for this weekend, (which I have already started because I am posting this on Saturday Night), are to complete the May part of the Oakhaven SAL, work a bit more on the Papillon SAL and continue the wedding sampler.  I will let you know how I get on.

Sorry this post is more waffle than picture, but Happy Stitching Everybody !!!!!

Sonic Finished

Straight off the hoop is the completed Sonic picture I am doing for my cousin.  I am very pleased with how it turned out.  She will be so chuffed, she loves Sonic so much.  It has been such a challenge for her to get to her 30th that I am so pleased I was able to do this for her !!  I am going to buy one of the boxes I bought for my family at Christmas at the end of the month to mount it onto.

I Got There !!!!!!

I have finished the current page of Siberian Forest.  I just love looking at it, the eyes are sooooo majestic and the fur is so lifelike.  He looks like he is going to jump off the fabric !!!!!!!  I don't want to wish the time away but I am sooo looking forward to September and the next page release !!!

For anybody who has been able to keep up with my rotation it is now time to return to my Cross Stitch Wizard.  All I have left to do is some metallic cross stitch, the backstitch of the actual wizard and the spaces in his cloak are ready and waiting for some beady bling !!!!  For reference here is a picture of where I left it last time I was working on it:
