Oakhaven Update and IHSW plans !!!

I have been stitching away on the wedding sampler and it is going great.  I am going to be adding some bling to it (some nice beads).  It is really a nice piece and the colours in it match the colours that my Sister has chosen for the day.

I also had an almost disaster which is the reason I don't have a picture of the finished Sonic box I am making.  There was a small mark on the corner of the aida that I wanted to wash out.  The madeira silk  thread said it could be machine washed so I thought that Hand washing would be doubly safe.  When I washed it it looked fine, I put it out to dry and it still looked ok but an hour later I looked at it and the blue and the yellow had run onto the fabric.  I could have cried as with the wedding sampler due it would have been a real struggle to get it redone.  Having decided that I would probably need to redo it I saw no harm in rewashing it.  Luckily it looks not bad at all now and I have decided to use the original piece.  No one will see the blue shadowing unless I point it out so I can relax again.

I have also been working on my wizard and am soooo very close to the finish.  I would have been finished a week ago but I have run out of metallic thread (annoyingly for the second time !!) and I have to wait till the end of the week till I can get more. It is frustrating because I literally only have a couple of lines left to do of the backstitch.   I am therefore not going to post a picture because I am just so near the finish line.

I finished the April part of the Oakhaven Yahoo Group SAL for 2012.  The doggy is so cute !!!  It stitched up really quick.

This weekend, unbelievably, its IHSW (click on the hermit in my sidebar to find out more info).  My aims for this weekend, (which I have already started because I am posting this on Saturday Night), are to complete the May part of the Oakhaven SAL, work a bit more on the Papillon SAL and continue the wedding sampler.  I will let you know how I get on.

Sorry this post is more waffle than picture, but Happy Stitching Everybody !!!!!

  2. I don't mind a little waffle, Donna, so it's all good, lol. Glad to hear you were able to wash out the extra dye in the sonic piece. I can't imagine being so close to a finish and having to wait on extra thread. I think I would drive the hour to Dayton to go to the LNS if they had it, lol. I'm impatient that way. Can't wait to see your update at the end of the weekend, and grats on being current on the OH SAL. It's cute so far.
