The Great Escape and What I've been up to!!!!!

I have completed the next two parts of The Great Escape by Abi Gurden (to join in use this link).  It's really looking good.  I had no problems with these stitches and I LOVE how the mice have turned out, they really have a three dimensional quality to them:

Last week I had a lovely surprise.  My sister had ordered some buttons for me from the internet for a prezzie.  I was soo chuffed as I had no idea and they are sooooo cute!!!! I am really lucky to have a family that supports me with my sewing and also my other hobbies (as you will see later!!!).  Here they are:

I thought I would also share with you what I have done over the weekend.  As I have written in my bio, I also love running.  This weekend I travelled up to Bath, Somerset, England to take part in their yearly half marathon.  It was the second time that I have run this half and my sixth overall.  I did it in two hours dead and I thought I would share a photo of me afterwards with my medal!!!

The boards were from my supporters, my mum and sister came up to cheer me on!!!!

Happy Stitching Everybody!!!

P.S.  This weekend is International Hermit and Stitch Weekend.  If you are interested in finding out what this is all about just click on the logo in my sidebar.

  1. Beautiful job on the Great escape. I adore the fabric you are using too. The buttons are soooo cute it's great that you get such support from your family for your creative side. Congrats on completing the marathon, awesome achievement!

  2. Hello

    Just found your blog.

Your Great escape is looking great.

Lovely buttons, such a nice surprise.

    Congrats on winning the marathon.

  3. Great escape looks awesome! Congrats on the half marathon. I tried running once and it was an awful, awful failure, so I can admire anyone who does it and loves it :)

  4. Congratulations on the marathon - very inspiring! I am only one month into my new fitness routine but love nothing more than flexing my arms to check out my new "muscles" (apparently they are invisible to my family!)
Also - I have to say - the man in the black t-shirt and shorts looks like one of the actors from "The Bill"!
