Morning Projects: Update Thirteen (Turtle and Snail Trail)

I was going to wait to update until I finished the current page of my HAED but it is taking too long so I thought I would post my last couple of morning project finishes.  Both are internet freebies.  The first is a turtle design from this website (not sure whereabouts it is now on the site I got it a while ago).  I love the simplicity of this design.  There were a few errors on the chart that I adjusted for as it seemed like the design should have been symmetrical but in a couple of places it wasn't.  I used some spare linen from my stash and for the first time I used  HDF (Vikki Clayton) hand-dyed silk (named Old Maid of the Heart).  I have to say that this thread was a dream to work with.  It was so smooth and looks so effective in the project.  I am so impressed with them that I am starting to collect the whole set and start to substitute DMC with them from time to time.

Details (Turtle):

Material:  28 count linen (greyey blue colour random from stash)
Threads:  Recommended HDF thread
Designer:  AuryTM (website link above)
Dimensions:  53 stitches by 29 stitches

My next morning project was a freebie from Elizabeth Almond.  This is a design called Snail Trail.  It was made up of two parts, one a blackwork picture and the same picture but including coloured cross stitch.  I decided to do both pictures on top of each of other and I really like how they turned out:

Details (Snail Trail):

Material:  28 count linen
Threads:  Recommended DMC six-stranded cotton
Dimensions:  34 stitches by 26 stitches
Designer:  Elizabeth Almond

I shouldn't be as long next time in posting because I am finally coming to the end of my HAED page.  In fact I think it will only be a few days.  Happy Stitching Everybody!!!!!
